Sunnies with Soph has been a wake up call, especially to write about fashion in a time where the world is essentially changing in front of our eyes. The biggest takeaways as a blogger I’ve gotten from this project is to always be transparent and discuss the matters at hand, no matter how uncomfortable or serious things get. It is always important to be real and human with your audience, talk to them as if they are your friends to keep them engaged. I’ve also learned that posting multimedia and incorporating audio allows the audience to see the different facets of the creator’s personality. Certain points get through to an audience more effectively through different channels. To keep an audience engaged, creatively, it is also important to showcase your passion and credibility about the things you are discussing. In terms of layout, I have learned that it is easy to navigate a simply formatted page. Sometimes less is more, especially when designing a site so people can navigate it. We live in an era of here and now, people do not want the hassle of trying to figure out a site, because it will ultimately end in less views or audience interactions. Above all, it is important to keep material raw and human, and through this I’ve learned that there are fashion brands who take initiative to put humanity first over business. It is important to bring the positive sides of a dark scenario out and to inspire listeners to continue being human. It is all about bringing people together, and especially now with philanthropy being a huge part of the material I produced, it is important to highlight it. I also learned how to use audacity which gave me more range in my production skills as well as becoming familiarized with new technologies.

Memes Galore

These memes as seen above relate to my target audience because they all involve glasses, and have fun and quirky ways about them. All of my memes include a playful trend or styling of glasses. There is a digital aspect to each of them that suggests a more futuristic take on sunglasses. According to Davidson, “A single, theoretical ideal dictates characteristics down to individual manifestations” (133). These ideals apply to my memes because they forecast a digital age of eyewear, even some styles lately have been reflected as futuristic looking. The trends are manifested by the memes. My identified memes’ behaviors come from Knowyourmeme.com in the sunglasses section, the “Deal With It” meme originates from something awful and it is spread through gifs on text and social media. The clout glasses originate from the ability to impact a community or group of people. It is spread through physical wear but does in fact have a futuristic feel to it. The meme that is the most digital originates from CSI Miami, and it is purely made out of figures on a computer. The manifestation of these memes is a futuristic and bigger, more reflective, cutting edge version of eyewear. The new and emerging form of eyewear appeals to the fashionistas because it is well paired with up and coming streetwear, and these are the new trends that we must prepare for, influenced by technology.
